AVID
Advancement Via Individual Determination

Welcome to the AVID 2007-08 school year! The AVID program at Pikesville High School is designed to increase school-wide learning. The mission of the AVID program is to ensure academic excellence and adequately prepare students for matriculation into a four-year college. AVID combines rigor with support that includes the student’s individual determination. The focus areas of study include WIC-R strategies, organization, time management, test preparation, and language development. During the academic year, motivational speakers, career development and field trips will also enhance the  educational experience.
